Holiday to Marlie Holiday Park 10th- 14th July 2023

At the beginning of July we went for a 4 night break to Marlie Holiday Park near Dymchurch. Its only about an hours drive from us and as we enjoyed ourselves so much at New Beach last year we thought we'd go again but to a different park! I also wanted to get one last holiday in before the girls start school in September and we can only go away in term time and the costs go up!

We went with my parents and booked a 3 bed platinum lodge again. You really can't fault the lodges at Park Holidays, they are so spacious and clean with everything you need for a self catering holiday. There were two twin bedrooms, a double bedroom with an ensuite and a large living room/kitchen. The main bathroom has a bath which is very useful when travelling with young children. We had a couple of issues with the lodge but these were resolved quickly. One was when I opened the kitchen window the handle pulled straight out! They sent someone out quickly to fix it and even though it couldn't get fixed straight away we could close it so it wasn't a massive issue. We were also missing a cheese grater and a tassimo machine but they brought these over straight away when we asked at reception and even gave us extra coffee pods and the machine was brand new!

They also rung a couple of days before we arrived and run after we checked in to make sure everything was OK.

We booked early check in and after we had checked in and unpacked we did a food shop at a local sainsburys which was a few minutes drive down the road. We ate out a couple of evening in the main restaurant onsite and cooked meals in the lodge the rest of the time.

The girls attended a few kids club sessions and enjoyed these, the park entertainers are very friendly and good with the children. It was very quiet however due to it being term time and the staff didn't seem as organised as last year at New Beach but it was fine.

The park has a small shop onsite which had the basics in.

We went swimming twice and the pool had an advantage to last year as the one at Marlie has a baby/toddler pool which New Beach doesn't. The girls love a swim and it was easy to book and was clean with free lockers and changing rooms.

The girls loved the evening mini disco the most and meeting the kids entertainment characters. They love a dance and there were a few kids their age there but as I said it was term time so wasn't that busy.

The food in the restaurant was fine, as the girls Dad owns a caravan with park holidays we get 20% discount on food and drink which was useful! The food is basic pub grub, similar to the kind of food you'd get in a hungry horse or the like. As it was a term time break we also got a £40 voucher for money off food and drink which was nice.

The girls loved spending time with their Nanny and Grandpa. We ventured out one day and went to a local beach and to the park there. We also went to Dymchurch which is a really nice seaside town with a lovely beach, it was very windy when we went however! The twins enjoyed fish and chips and ice cream on the beach and they also have a lovely little fun fair too which they loved.

All in all we had a fantastic holiday and it was so nice for the girls to spend quality time with their grandparents.

I'd definitely recommend Marlie for a family holiday. I'm not sure what we are going to do for a holiday next year as the girls start school in a few weeks which is very exciting and they have now finished nursery for good after 3 years!

It's the summer holiday's currently and we are hoping the weather picks up so we can get out and about more as we have all had enough of the rain we've been having!
