Holiday to New Beach Caravan Park...

At the end of September the girls and I went on a 4 night break to New Beach Caravan Park in Dymchurch.

The girls were ridiculously excited and the day we left they were bouncing off the walls as we couldn't check in until 4pm and it was only an hours drive away! My parents kindly agreed to drive us.

We checked in slightly early but this wasn't an issue and we had keys and information for our lodge. We were lucky enough to be allocated a brand new version of the 3 bed platinum lodge we had booked. It was located a 30 second walk from the clubhouse, restaurant and playhouse which was really convenient.

The lodge was lovely with a 50 inch TV that had netflix/Prime/iplayer etc. We were half board but the kitchen had everything you need for self catering. One small thing that was quite funny was the coffee machine was a tassimo but they had supplied nescaffe pods so we couldn't use it. The only other thing was the bathroom to the ensuite had a missing doorknob but wasn't really an issue. We had dressing gowns and mini toiletries supplied and beds made up. There was an outside veranda with table and chairs and 6 seater dining table. The kitchen had a washer/dryer, full sized fridge freezer, oven and microwave and was the best kitchen I've ever seen in a caravan park. Being so close to the clubhouse we could hear music between 9pm-12am but the girls slept through it and wasn't too loud.

The park had a swimming pool, activity centre, Neptune restaurant (that we didn't visit as our half board was at the clubhouse) arcades, free atm, restaurant and small shop. The shop had alot of essentials and wasn't too badly priced.

There was a shingle beach across the road but it wasn't really beach weather unfortunately. The park doesn't have much in walking distance so if you wanted to get out and about you'd definitely need access to a car.

It was off season so very quiet. We did the kids club a few times which the girls enjoyed and often we were the only ones there, similar with the mini disco there was only a handful of kids. All the entertainment were amazing though and made the holiday, they were so friendly and kind to my girls, one of them even gave them a pound for the arcades!

The kids clubs were fun but quiet. We did the clown academy, scavenger hunt and my girls enjoyed these.

The girls loved the mini disco and the games they did during like making hats and building blocks. They got a certificate and a little toy everytime they participated which was a nice touch.

The food on half board was OK. If we had been there longer than 4 days it would have been a little repetitive, the kids menu had 4 options on so if you had fussy eaters it might be a little challenging. The breakfasts were nice, my girls loved the waffles. The main meals were hit and miss, some things like the chicken burger were lovely but the pizza was burnt and dry.

There was also alot of supplements charged on things like currys, steak etc ranging from £2 or so extra to up to £8 extra. They ran out of things quite often too unfortunately. The staff were very nice and apologetic about this however. Drinks were not included and were a little pricey, like £6.50 or so for a glass of wine and a slush was £3. We were lucky the girls Dad owns a caravan with the same company (Park Holidays) so we have an owners card that gets 10% off.

We did sand art, bear workshop and pottery painting. It cost £22 for the bear workshop for a bear and outfit, £4 for sand art and £7 for a medium pottery piece. The staff were great and so engaging, my girls really loves these activites, Charlotte sleeps with the Elsa Llama she made every night!

The swimming pool was a hit, we were the only ones booked in for the session! You book at reception for a 50 minute session. There are communal changing rooms and a family changing room. It was clean and the pool wasn't too cold. There's no baby pool but the girls could just about stand up at the shallow end! The staff there were really friendly too, though we got the impression they were a little bored as it was so quiet!

The girls had a fantastic week and have been asking to go on holiday again!

The cost was reasonable too we paid £418 for the 3 of us for a 3 bed platinum lodge half board.

I would definitely recommend this park, if I went back it would be after I have passed my driving lessons though so we could explore the local area more.
