4 years 10 months old....

The girls are now almost five years old and are starting school in September. I defered them a year for various reasons but it still feels like this has come round way too quickly!

They are finishing up their last year at nursery and everyone agrees they are more than ready now for the challenges of big school!

We were lucky enough to be accepted for the girls first choice of school which is a ten minute walk from us.

We went for a stay and play at the school and the girls loved it. They met their teacher and the teaching assistant, explored their new class and playground and met their new school friends. There is a couple of children from their room at nursery which is nice as they will know some of the children already.

The girls will unfortunately miss the second stay and play as we are going on holiday! We are going to a caravan park with my parents for four nights and the girls are very excited. I wanted to make the most of the fact that we can go on a term time holiday before they start school!

Cara is looking forward to starting school and is very excited about having a uniform. She isn't a big fan or change but once she settles in I'm sure she'll love it. She loved the routine of nursery and school is pretty routine based so I'm sure she'll be fine.

Charlotte changes her mind daily about going to school, some days she wants to go other days she says she wants to stay at nursery! She keeps practicing her writing however and tells me she is doing her 'homework'.

The summer holiday's are fast approaching and we don't have too many plans as yet. The girls are going to their Daddy's for 4 nights at the beginning and the end of the holiday and I'm looking forward to a little break! The summer holiday's are fun but can be challenging as a single parent without getting a break.

I have my driving test booked for the 24th of August and am looking forward to passing and saving for a car so we have more opportunities to do more things further afield!

The girls have also been given a place at Rainbows in September and I hope they love it. I was in Guides and loved it. I'm hoping it gives them a chance to gain more confidence, make new friends and learn new skills.

We are most looking forward to our holiday, having fun in the summer and starting school and Rainbows. It's going to be a busy few months!
